Yorkshire, Northern and North Trent are merging to form the new North Eastern Hub and they welcome you to join their first online evening event and AGM.

Main Speaker

Dr Stefan Birkett Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the University of Central Lancashire.

Title: High Intensity Interval Training, does it HIIT the mark?

Prior to completing his PhD, Stefan worked in the NHS as an Exercise Specialist in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation. He has extensive experience in conducting maximal exercise tests and HIIT prescription. Stefan has gained accreditation as a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine; he also tutors for the British Association of Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).

1) Joe Fawcett MSc Physiotherapy
Title: Muscle Power Training Post-Stroke
Joe currently works as a Rotational Physiotherapist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Joe also has a BSc in Sport Science and Physiology.

2) Alex Hurst Pre-Reg MSc Physiotherapy
Title: Exercise Prescription and Promotion by UK Physiotherapists for People with Multiple Sclerosis: A Cross-Sectional Survey
Alex has an interest in exercise prescription in neurorehabilitation and how to improve motivation and adherence to exercise in people with MS.

3) Emily Cook Pre-Reg MSc Physiotherapy
Title: A Feasibility Study into the Effectiveness of Physical Activity Monitoring in Stroke
Emily currently works in stroke rehabilitation at Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Interests include digital technology and app based self-management wellbeing tools.
