Presenter Bios:
Monica Busse is an allied health professional academic specialising in the development and evaluation of complex physical and psychosocial interventions for chronic health conditions. She has a proven track record of securing research funding and over 20 years’ experience in developing and evaluating complex healthcare interventions using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches. She has extensive experience with research funding bodies as a reviewer, panel member, and funder representative, consistently prioritising public and patient involvement in all her work.
Claire O’Neill is the Interim Director of Swansea Trials Unit (Swansea University) and has worked in research and clinical trials involving the NHS for over 15 years. During this time she has also managed two research design services in Wales and is currently employed as a Research Development Advisor with the Health and Care Research Wales Faculty where her role is to support researcher development and promote funding submissions for high quality impactful health and social care research for the benefit of people in Wales and beyond.
Learning Outcomes:
To explore funding opportunities and identify various sources of funding.
To understand the process involved in selecting the right funding stream.
To consider factors involved in successful submission of a grant application.
To demystify challenges and facilitators of grant schemes.
