‘Analysis of Normal and Abnormal Gait Using Force Plates, Pressure Plate, EMG and Motion Capture’
SPEAKERS:
Dr Karl Bates and Dr Roger Kissane, based in the department of Musculoskeletal Biology at University of Liverpool
Taking place in the gait laboratory at Liverpool University, this course will give participants the chance to refresh their knowledge of gait and how to analyse it. Participants will have the opportunity to observe the most up to date equipment in gait laboratories and learn how to put their new knowledge into practice when they do not have access to the equipment.
Course Objectives include:
To revise normal kinematic and kinetic gait.
To use force plates, pressure plates, EMG and Motion capture with normal gait.
To use force plates, pressure plates EMG and Motion capture with simulated abnormal gait patterns
To review how to interpret this data from neuro research and how to apply into clinical practice
Lunch will not be provided but there are cafes and shops nearby.
