Functional Neurological Disorder Study Day combined with the North Eastern ACPIN Hub AGM

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body send and receive signals. For many, symptoms can be severe, disabling, and life changing. We understand that access to care, or lack of appropriate care continues to be an issue in many parts of the UK. We have therefore designed a study day to:

• Increase clinicians’ understanding of the physiology of FND
• Increase clinicians’ confidence in explaining the diagnosis of FND.
• Increase awareness of the common presentation/symptoms associated with FND.
• Better understand psychological techniques, how clinicians can help and when to seek specialist support.
• Explain the pivotal role of therapies in the management and optimisation of symptoms.
• Increase awareness of support offered from charities such as FND HOPE.

The content will be delivered by specialist, multi-professional speakers.

The North Eastern AGM will also be held from 12-12:30 approx.

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
