Pregnancy and Parenthood with a Neurological Condition

Come and enjoy a weekend study day exploring how we can support our patients with long term neurological conditions.

We have a jam-packed agenda with talks from neurologists, clinical nurse specialists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

We will have a panel discussion with expert patients and health care professionals exploring lived experience and practical tips.

Programme

1000 – 1015     Welcome

1015 – 1045     Dr Karen Chung – Consultant Neurologist. Neuro obstetrics clinic and discussing what to be mindful of with neurological conditions pre, peri and post pregnancy. 

1045 – 1115     Laura O’Flaherty, Neurological Occupational therapist. Advice and resources in pregnancy and parenthood.

1115 – 1215     Facilitated Q+A with five adults with a range of neurological conditions following pregnancy

1215 – 1300   Lunch and networking

1300 – 1315   Lucy Lyons, MS Clinical Nurse specialist (Neuro obstetrics clinic, what we commonly see and have learnt)

1315 – 1330     Mariola Skorupinsa Clinical nurse specialist – CMT and pregnancy.

1330 – 1415     Irina Fedulow Plante, Neurological Physiotherapist, Physical management and considerations during pregnancy with neurological conditions.

1415 – 1430    Close and questions 

 

Additional Information: No tea or coffee allowed in the lecture theatre. The lecture theatre can be cold so please bring layers! – We do not usually provide handouts but will aim to send a link to lecture notes for the day!
