a) Definition of RT
b) Principles of RT
c) Programme development and progression
d) Physiological effects of RT on muscle
2) To be aware of the current state of the evidence relating to application of RT in neurological populations.
a) National Guidelines
b) Strength and limitations of evidence-base
c) Challenges in transferring research to clinical practice
d) Secondary benefits of RT in neurological population.
3) With appropriate rationale, be able to develop and demonstrate a RT programme for a person with a long-term neurological.
Facilitated by:
a) Tutor-led instruction and supervision of exercises
b) Peer observation and prescription of exercises
c) Progressions and adaptations of exercise
d) Case-based programme development and application
